At the turn of the 20th century, the race to master flight was in full swing. Most of the world’s brightest scientific minds were convinced that the only way man could fly was in devices that were “lighter than air”, in other words, souped-up hot air balloons!
Visionaries like Alexander Graham Bell set out to solve a completely different problem. They knew that if heavier-than-air objects like birds and kites could fly, those same principles could be used to build a machine that would lift man off the ground. They worked with kites, one of the simplest constructions, to solve highly complex design issues. More important, they focused on solving the right problem — understanding aerodynamics rather than concerning themselves with the weight of the construction. They learned to maximize and balance air flow to gain stable air lift. And by 1903, they saw people pilot the first airplanes.
It’s this sort of creative and innovative perspective that Korn Consulting Group brings to all of its client projects. It’s an approach we call Fast Focus.
